5 Format Disk
To use the format disk service
aid:
• On the Disk Service Aids
window select the disk drive
that you want to format (see
Notes).
• When you are su re that you
have selected the correct
disk drive, press F2 (Format).
A prompt for confirmation
displays.
Continue on step 6.

On the Confirmation screen:
• Answer the prompt Yes.
• If you want to find out how
the format operation is
progressing, go to "Running
the SSA Configurator" on
page 129 and use the
procedure to View/Modify
Attributes.

Note: If you are not sure of the identification of the disk drive that
you want to format, use the Identify function to get a positive
physical identification of the disk drive (see step 8).
You can further ensure that you have selected the correct
disk drive by verifying that the serial number on the disk drive
is the same as the serial number that is displayed on the
screen.
