RS422 Diagnostics
A Serial Utility Diskette contains the diagnostics for the adapter and will be used in the troubleshooting
procedures.
1
With the customer's help, stop all S/390 programs and shut down the S/390 operating system if it is
actively running on the P/390.
2
Create the RS422 Adapter diagnostic diskette. See "Creating Diagnostic Diskettes" on page 230 for
instructions on how to create the diskette, using the System/390 Integrated Server Install CD.
3
Shut down OS/2.
4
Insert the RS422 Adapter diagnostic diskette in the floppy drive. Make sure it is not write protected.
5
Press CTRL-ALT-DEL or press the RESET switch.
Prior to pressing ENTER to continue, record the four port addresses. These are to be used later to
run the diagnostics.
