Service Procedures
1. Boot from the OS/2 utility diskettes, see "Booting the OS/2 Utility diskettes" on page 233.

Note: Remember to reinsert diskette 1 when the command prompt appears.

2. Type DIR A:
IP
C: to determine the current volume label of the C: drive.
3. Type FORMAT C:
• When prompted for the current Volume Label, type the volume label determined above.
• When prompted for the new Volume Label, type 539015 C.
4. Type FORMAT D:
• When prompted for the current Volume Label, type 5ADUMP.
• When prompted for the new Volume Label, type 5ADUMP.
Note: Only format C: and 0: at this time - no other drives.
5. Determine what drive letter is aSSigned to the CD-ROM drive.
It should be one higher in the alphabet than the last partition you FDISKed above.
Let's say you think it is G:. Type DIR G: to see the files on the System/390 Integrated Server
Install CD You should see files like BACKUP.001, CONTROL.001, etc.
6. To install 10SP Software to the C: drive, enter: INSTALL G: (G: is the CD ROM drive letter).
7. When prompted to insert the "Backup Diskette 1" (that's the CD), just press ENTER.
This will install the entire 10SP system plus put an OS/2 boot record on drive C:.
8. You will see a message saying the system has been transferred. Then additional files will be copied
into the C:\P390 subdirectory.
This step is completed when the [A:\] OS/2 prompt is displayed.
9. Remove the diskette and CD disc and reboot the system by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL (or press the
reset switch).
10. After OS/2 starts you will be prompted if this is a New Install or to Restore saved customer
configuration.
• If a new install select option 1 and enter customer name and location.
• If restoring a saved configuration select option 2 and follow instructions on screen.
• After restoring a configuration, be sure and reboot the system so the restored files are active.

from SSA and formatting HPFS partitions
1. When the OS/2 desktop appears, select an OS/2 command window from the LaunchPad (the vertical
rectangle of icons at the left edge of the screen) by pointing at the lowest icon and clicking once with
the left mouse button.
2. Format the E: partition by typing: FORMAT E: Ifs:hpfs.
3. Repeat for the rest of the partitions up to the last drive letter you noted above.
You are now ready to load the S/390 Operating System (OS/390, VM/ESA, or VSE/ESA) onto E:
