SSA RAID Adapter, SSA, and RAID
SSA - RAID ERRORS

This MAP helps you to solve problems that have occurred in SSA RAID arrays.
Attention: Unless the system unit needs to be turned off for some other reason,
do not turn off the system when servicing an SSA link or
a
unit in which SSA
devices are installed. Unit power cables and external SSA cables that connect
devices to the system can be disconnected while that system is running.
Some of the steps in this procedure ask you to change the configuration of the
array, or to change the use of an SSA disk drive.
Do not do those steps unless
you have the user's permission.
Ensure that all the disk drives are
working correctly:

• Start the SSA Configurator
and Service Aids Utility (see
step 1 of "Running the SSA
Configurator" on page 129).
• From the Main menu, select
SSA Adapter List.
• Select the required adapter
from the SSA Adapter List.
• Select Disk Service Aids
from the Adapter menu.
• Check the Status column to
find any drives with power
problems, failed conditions,
link failures, or all dashs.
• Select Run Concurrent
Diagnostics to identify any
disk drive problems that have
occurred.
If any drives have bad status
or if concurrent diagnostics
identified a 45xxx SRN,
resolve them using "SSA -
LINK ERRORS" on page 83.
• continue on step 2.
