TORQUE SENSOR
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1) Remove steering column lower cover.
2) Turn ignition switch to ON position.
3) Check voltage between terminals of torque sensor connector (1)
with connecting it to P/S control module (2) and not running en-
gine.

About 3.9 V
("C1" – "C3")
Sub sensor
About 1.1 V
("C2" – "C3")
If check result is not satisfactory, replace steering column as-
sembly.
MOTOR ASSEMBLY (WITH CLUTCH
INCORPORATED)
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1) Remove steering column hole cover.
2) Disconnect motor and clutch coupler (1) from P/S control mod-
ule (2) with ignition switch is OFF.
3) Check resistance between terminals of motor assembly coupler.
"B1" and "B2" (For motor)
"B3" and "B4" (For clutch)
If check result is not satisfactory, replace steering column as-
sembly.
4) Check continuity between terminal of motor assembly coupler
and body ground.
"B1" and body ground
"B3" and body ground
If check result is not satisfactory, replace steering column as-
sembly.
