Configuration release
Step Action
1 Select the menu command "Target system" > "Go
offline".
2 Choose "Target system" > "Approve configuration".
3 Set the interface via which you have access to the
device (e.g. COM1) and confirm with "OK".
4 Enter the name and approving company and confirm
with "OK".
5 Acknowledge the message with "OK".
Note
If the report could not be printed when the project was released, e.g. no printer or software
(Adobe Reader), the printout must be created at the latest at the approval stage by selecting
"Options" > "Release information...".
Safety mode
Step Action
1 Establish an online connection with the MSS via the
menu command "Switching device" > "Open online" or
"Target system" > "Load to PC".
2 Set the interface and confirm with "OK".
3 Activate the menu command "Target system" > "Safety
mode".
4 Confirm with "Yes".

Result
The offline configuration is opened.
The "Approve configuration" dialog box is opened,
thereby confirming that the configuration test has been
performed properly.
The "Approve configuration" dialog box opens.
The "Approve configuration" dialog box opens. The
configuration has been successfully approved.
The printout of the release information is created.
Result
The Set interface dialog box appears.
The project opens online.
The message "Activate safety mode" appears.
The MSS changes to safety mode without password
protection.
