DIAGNOSTIC MANUAL
CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR
The Hall Effect camshaft position sensor senses the Top dead center (TDC) point of the # 1 cylinder in the
compression stroke. Which allows the ECU to determine when to start the injection. The trigger is
mounted in the exhaust camshaft

EMS
P0341 - Camshaft sensor signal error
During engine running, the EMS ECU receives the output signal from cam shaft
position sensor and is within the range
Normal signal pattern has not been input for cylinder identification from the
camshaft position sensor signal for 4 sec. (Engine should be cranked to check
this error).
Increased air gap between cam shaft position sensor and the trigger wheel
Sensor mounting loosened
Increased Cam shaft end play
Faulty cam shaft position sensor
System Check lamp ON
Engine will not start.
If this failure occurs when the engine is running then engine will keep on
running
