P1645 - Boost pressure modulator over temperature error
BOOST PRESSURE MODULATOR
The boost pressure modulator controls the variable vanes of the VGT to attain the desired boost pressure
thru controlling the vacuum to boost pressure actuator .In normal operation and during an actuator test,
the PWM power stage of ECU is tested for short circuit to battery voltage, short circuit to ground, open
circuit and excess temperature. Once the errors are confirmed, the power stage is switched off.

EMS
When ignition ON , no malfunction detected by EMS ECU in the boost
pressure modulator circuit and no surge voltage detected
Overheating in power stage
Loosen boost pressure modulator wiring harness connectors
Faulty EMS ECU
System Check Lamp ON
Boost pressure actuator will not work
