Chapter 2 Cisco IOS Commands

show mac address-table count

Use the show mac address-table count user EXEC command to display the number of addresses present
in all VLANs or the specified VLAN.
Note
Beginning with Cisco IOS Release 12.1(11)EA1, the show mac address-table count command replaces
the show mac-address-table count command (with the hyphen).

Usage Guidelines
If no VLAN number is specified, the address count for all VLANs appears.
Expressions are case sensitive. For example, if you enter | exclude output, the lines that contain output
do not appear, but the lines that contain Output appear.

show mac address-table count [vlan vlan-id] [ | {begin | exclude | include} expression]
(Optional) Display the number of addresses for a specific VLAN. The range is 1 to
4094.
(Optional) Display begins with the line that matches the expression.
(Optional) Display excludes lines that match the expression.
(Optional) Display includes lines that match the specified expression.
Expression in the output to use as a reference point.
Modification
This command was first introduced.
The show mac-address-table count command was replaced by the show
mac address-table count command.
