Chapter 2: Virtual Chassis Stacking
Trunk links must be direct connections between ports on line
cards. A trunk cannot have any intermediary network devices,
such as media converters, routers, or Ethernet switches. Figure 21
is an example of an invalid trunk because it has intermediary
network devices, in this case media converters.
