Managing host bus adapters

You can use Performance Control to change the name assigned to a host bus adapter and
replace an existing host bus adapter.

Changing the PFC name of a host bus adapter

Use Performance Control to assign a PFC name to a host bus adapter. Although you can identify
host bus adapters by WWNs, you might be able to identify host bus adapters more easily if you
assign PFC names. WWNs are 16-digit hexadecimal numbers that cannot be changed, whereas
PFC names need not be 16-digit hexadecimal numbers and can be changed as needed.

Prerequisites
Required role: Storage Administrator (System Resource Management)
You must enable the Remote Web Console secondary window. For details, see the XP7
Remote Web Console User Guide.
Procedure
1. Open the Performance Control window.
In Command View Advanced Edition:
1. On the Resources tab, expand the Storage Systems tree, right-click the target storage
system, and then select Other Functions.
2. In the displayed window, select Actions > Port/Host Group > Authentication.
3. In the next displayed window, select Go > Performance Manager > Performance
Control.
In Remote Web Console:
1. Click Reports > Performance Monitor > Performance Control to open the
Performance Control window.
