Analyzing traffic statistics: many-to-many connections

The traffic statistics indicate the number of I/Os via ports from HBAs and the amount of data that
has been transferred between ports and HBAs. You must analyze the traffic statistics to determine
the upper limit values to be applied to I/O rates or transfer rates for low-priority HBAs.
The following procedure uses the Performance Control main window to analyze traffic statistics.
You can also use the Performance Monitor window to analyze traffic statistics and display a line
graph that shows the changes in traffic.
Prerequisites
Required role: Storage Administrator (System Resource Management)
You must enable the Remote Web Console secondary window. For details, see the XP7
Remote Web Console User Guide.
Procedure
1.
Open the Performance Control window.
In Command View Advanced Edition:

On the Resources tab, expand the Storage Systems tree, right-click the target storage
system, and then select Other Functions.

In the displayed window, select Actions > Port/Host Group > Authentication.

In the next displayed window, select Go > Performance Manager > Performance
Control.
In Remote Web Console:
1.
Click Reports > Performance Monitor > Performance Control to open the
Performance Control window.

In the Performance Control window, click Performance Control. The Performance Control
main window appears.
4.
Select the WWN tab.
5.
Select All from the list at the top right corner of the window.
6.
Select whether to analyze I/O rate or transfer rates:
To analyze I/O rates, select IOPS from the list at the upper left corner.
To analyze transfer rates, select MB/s from the list at the upper left corner of the list.
7.
Below the Storage System folder in the upper-left tree, click the icon of the port whose
traffic statistics you want to collect.
The list displays traffic statistics (I/O rates or transfer rates) about the host bus adapters that
connect to the selected port.
