A Guide to Using DCS4 Access Control Workstation
The internal identity number by which the Dose Control System
identifies records for an individual. This allows a worker to
change their PIN and even their name without the system losing
track of them.
May also be referred to as DBS ID or Person ID.

The normal Dose Credit for an individual or group; these
automatically replace the current Dose Credit every month
when the Monthly Update is run.

The amount of ionising radiation received by an individual.
Any change to the records of the actual Dose received by a

A consistent set of limits for the maximum total Penetrating
Dose that a worker may receive in given periods. A Dose
Credit comprises a Monthly Credit for the current calendar
month, a Yearly Credit for the current calendar year and a Five
Yearly Credit for the current year plus the previous four years.
The mode in which an Access Control Terminal displays the
dose received by an individual in their last visit, in the current
month and in the current year.
The least value of the Dose Credit minus the actual dose
received in each of the measuring periods (this month, this
year, last five years); i.e., the remaining dose the worker is
permitted to receive.
The rate at which an individual receives ionising radiation. The
EPD measures Dose Rate. See Alarm Threshold
