REPAI R I NSTRUCTIONS
FRONT SPRINGS
REMOVING
1. Remove the hub cap and loosen the wheel nuts a
coup le of turns.
2. Jack up the front end at the front jack attach -
ments. Re move the wh ee l.
3. Remove the shock absorber according to the
instructions g iven in Group 76.
4. Disconnect the steering rod from th e steering arm.
Lo osen t he dam p for the brake hoses. Remove
the attachment (7, Fig. 7-2) for the stabi lizer.
5. Place a jack under t he lower wishbone. Loosen
t he nuts for the ba ll joints, knock with a hammer
unt i l the ball joints loosen from the the spindie .
Remove t he nuts and lowe r th e jac k sli ght ly.
Rem ove t he steering knu ckl e wi th th e front whee l
bra ke un it and place it o n a sui tab le st a nd.
6. Lower th e jack f ully and re move t he spring.
FITTING
1. Place th e r ubbe r sp acer and sprin g
In
position.
With th e jack (p laced imm ediately under t he
spring) lif t up t he lower wi shbone a nd fit t he
stee ring knuckl e.
2. Tighten the ball joints at th e steerin g knuckle.
Firmly screw the stabilizer to the lower wishbone .
3. Check the rubber bu sh and lower washer
(l,
and
7, Fig . 7-7) of the upper shock absorber attach -
ment. Place the shock absorber in position and
tighten its atta chment.
4. Point the wheel s straight forward s (with the lower
wishbone unioaded) and damp firmly the brake
hoses to the screw of the stabilizer.
5. Fit the wheel and wheel nuts. Lower the vehicle .
Tighten the nuts.
REAR SPRINGS
REMOVING
1. Remove the hub cap and loosen the wheel nuts
a couple of turns. Jack up the vehide. Place
blocks in front of the rear jack attachments
according to Fig. 7-4. Remove the wheel.
2. Jack up the rear axle with the jack so that the
spring compresses. Loosen the upper and lower
spring attachments.
3. Remove the upper attachment (9, Fig. 7-5) for the
shock absorber. Lower the jack carefully and
remove the spring.
FITTING
1. Fit the upper screw and the washer inside the

sp r in g as we il as the rubber spacer (11 ) and the
wa sher (10) and then firm ly secure the spring to
th e upper atta chment.
2. Raise th e jac k a nd secure ly fix t he spring to t he
lower attac hment wi th the w as her (14) a nd the
scre w (1 3).
3. Fit th e upp er shock a bso rber sc rew, th e w hee l
and the whe el nuts.
4. Lowe r th e vehid e a nd t ig hten the wh ee l nuts. Fit
the hub cap.
