NEO Lighting Control Console
Using the Color Palettes
The quickest way to apply a color palette is to select the fixtures you want to change and then click on the "palette"
button. A menu will drop down with each of the colors listed. Select the color "Red" from the list and the color wheel
on the Mac 250 will change to "Red 301". Because the Mac 250 does not have color mixing capability NEO has
found the closest match from the color wheel.
We can also apply the color over time by simply entering the number of seconds before selecting the palette. On the
keyboard enter the number 5 and then select "Green" from the palette menu. You will notice that rather than jumping
to the color green the fixtures will fade to green over 5 seconds.
Using the Position Presets
Channel groups (the position presets that have just been recorded) can be applied the same way as the color palettes.
However because the channel group contains a specific list of channels we can apply it without selecting channels
first. To apply a position preset to all channels that were originally recorded simply select it from the drop down menu
"ar" in the channel display.
Applying Position Presets (CH Group)
Alternatively if we want to apply the position preset to just a few of the fixtures then select the desired channels
before selecting the preset. For example if I select channels 3,4 and 5 and then pick "Pos DSL" from the "Ch Groups"
drop down menu then these 3 fixtures will move to the down stage left position.
Like the color palette you can enter the time you want before selecting the position preset. Leaving channels 3,4 and
5 selected enter 6.3 on the keyboard and then select "Pos DSR" from the "Ch Groups" menu. The fixtures will now
move to down stage right position and take 6.3 seconds to move there.
NEO NOTES & TIPS: If you are using movement effects with a relative offset you can use position presets to move
the effect around the stage. For example if the fixtures are performing a circle you could create a position whit the
fixture on stage and a position with the fixtures pointing at the audience. Once the effect is running you can move the
effect between the stage and the audience by applying the position preset.
Using Palettes from the Shortcut Window
Using the drop down menus in the channel display can be slow in a live show environment because it relies on
several mouse clicks and can be hard to hit with a touch screen.
