Built-in MCU Capabilities
Knowledge of the built-in MCU capability parameters can assist taking advantage of the built-
in MCU function for holding a successful conference.
The capabilities of a built-in MCU vary according to terminal models and the number of licenses.
The following sections take the maximum number of licenses as an example to describe the
capabilities of the built-in MCU.
Number of Video Sites
The maximum number of sites supported by the built-in MCU of the ViewPoint 9039 is 9V +
3A, the maximum number of sites supported by the built-in MCU of HUAWEI VP9039A, the
maximum number of sites supported by the built-in MCU of the ViewPoint 9036, the maximum
number of sites supported by the built-in MCU of the ViewPoint 9039S is 6V + 3A, and the
maximum number of sites supported by the built-in MCU of the HUAWEI VP9036S, ViewPoint
9030 and the HUAWEI VP9035A are 4V + 3A in which V stands for video sites and A stands
for audio-only sites.

The maximum number of sites supported by the ViewPoint 9039 is 9V + 3A, the maximum
number of sites supported by the ViewPoint 9036 is 6V + 3A, the maximum number of
sites supported by the HUAWEI VP9039A and the ViewPoint 9039S are 6V + 3A, and the
maximum number of sites supported by the HUAWEI VP9036S, ViewPoint 9030 and
HUAWEI VP9035A are 4V + 3A.V stands for video sites and A stands for audio-only sites.

Conferences can be locked from the built-in MCU. After a conference is locked, calls from
new sites are restricted.
Conferences can be attended by both H.323 and SIP sites and support SIP site control. A
SIP site supports only single-stream transmission. An H.323 site, however, supports dual-
stream transmission.
If a conference is held with a built-in MCU, only Presentation is available.
