Temporary Hold Down Latch - Inspection and Adjustment
Objective
Inspect that the temporary hold down latch keeps the lid in the lowered position when lowering
the lid. Proper adjustment should match figure 2 when the lid is in the lowered position. If this
latch is not engaging the catch, proceed with the adjustment procedure below. Why is this
important? This latch eliminates the need for a team member to manually hold down the lid
while moving the lid handle into the engaged / sealed position. Some 580 models do not have
this latch. Please refer to the magnetic latch adjustment procedure instructions for these units.

Adjustment Procedure
1. Adjust the temporary lid latch by flexing the
latch gently in or out with an adjustable
wrench (figure 3). Proper adjustment will
match figure 2 and may require adjustment
of the catch as described in step number 2.
2. Adjust the catch with and adjustable
wrench as shown in figure 4 gently moving
this up or down until it engages the
temporary lid latch. If properly adjusted,
this should match figure 2.
