Lid Handle Roller Inspection
Component Overview
Figure 1.
Roller
Mounting Plate
Procedure
1. Open the lid. Cover the fry pot. Remove the mounting screw and mounting plate holding each roller onto the lid
handle, then slide each roller off of its shaft.
2. Clean each lid roller and each shaft with a mild detergent and water.
3. Inspect the inside and outside of each roller for cracks, flat spots or deep grooves. A deep groove is any
groove where the depth of the groove is .010" (figure 4), or greater. If groove depth is less than what is shown
in figure 4, the roller may be re-used. If the groove depth is questionable, then either replace the roller, or use a
micrometer to precisely measure the depth of the groove and determine if the roller needs to be replaced.
4. If either roller is cracked, has flat spots or deep grooves as shown in figures 3, 4, and 5 below, replace both roll-
ers with kit number 140440; otherwise re-use the existing rollers
5. To install a new roller or an existing roller, slide the roller on its roller shaft, apply blue semi-permanent thread
locker to the threads of the mounting screw, then securely fasten the mounting plate with its mounting screw
(figure 1.). Each roller should spin freely after installation.
