2.7 Converting Camera Link Output to RS-644
with a k-BIC
On the l100
, video data is output from the camera in Camera Link LVDS format and parameter
k
change commands are issued to the camera using RS-644 serial communication via the frame
grabber. On older cameras, video data was output using an RS-644 LVDS format and commands
were issued using RS-232 serial communication via the host PC. The output from l100
can be converted to the older style of output by using a Basler Interface Converter for k-series
cameras (k-BIC). The k-BIC is a small device which attaches to the l100
compatible cable. For complete information on the k-BIC, refer to the k-BIC Users Manual and the
k-BIC installation guide.

2.8 DC Power

The L100
requires 12 VDC (± 10%) power. The maximum power consumption is approximately
k
6.5 W / 8.5 W / 10 W for the L101
Also, note the information about the 6-pin connector in Section 2.1.3 and on the power cable in
Section 2.2.2.

2.9 Status LED

The L100
has a status LED on the back of the camera. The LED is used to indicate that power is
k
present and to indicate an error condition if one is detected. See Section 6.1 for details.
