Checking Brake Pedal
WARNING
To avoid serious injury:
• Stop the engine and chock the wheels before checking
brake pedal.
• If movement is outside of the specifications, adjusting the
brake.
 Checking the brake pedal free travel
Proper brake pedal free travel
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Slightly depress the brake pedal and measure free travel at the
top of the pedal stroke.
3. If brake pedal free travel is outside of the specifications,
adjusting the brake.
 Checking the brake pedal stroke
Pedal stroke
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Step on the pedal and measure the pedal stroke.
3. If brake pedal stroke is outside of the specifications, adjusting
the brake.

 Adjusting procedure
1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface.
2. Stop the engine.
3. Jack up the rear wheels.
4. Remove the left rear tire.
5. Remove the mud guard of rubber.
6. Release the parking brake.
7. Loosen the lock nuts.
8. Adjust the cable wire length.
9. Tighten the lock nuts securely.
10. Install the mud guard.
11. Install the left rear tire.
