Using a Memory Unit

• The RUN LED flashes.
If a protect setting error occurs when executing manual transmission, it is pos-
sible to return to the Memory Unit manual transmission screen by pressing
the OK touch switch, but in the case of other errors, the status described
above remains in effect until the NT631/NT631C power is turned OFF or
reset.
The compatibility relationships are shown below.
NT631 System program for NT631/NT631C without the -V suffix, and for
NT631C NT631/NT631C with the -V1 and -V2 suffix
NT631C-EV3 System program for NT631C with the -V3 suffix
When an error occurs, take remedial action by referring to the table below.
Error
Mode setting error DIP switches SW1-1 to
SW1-3 are all OFF, or
more than one is ON.
Protect setting error Writing to the data write
(automatic transmis- destination has been pro-
sion) hibited by the setting of
SW2-1 or SW2-2.
Protect setting error Writing to the data write
(manual transmis- destination has been pro-
sion) hibited by the setting of
SW2-1 or SW2-2.
Flash memory error An error occurred during
initialization of the
NT631/NT631C or Mem-
ory Unit flash memory, or
during write processing.
Verify error An error occurred during
verification processing at
the flash memory of the
NT631/NT631C or the
Memory Unit.
Transmitting data An attempt is made to
error transmit data other than a
(The automatic system program or the
transmission only) system program of a dif-
ferent PLC model into the
NT631/NT631C as the
system program.
An attempt is made to
write a system program
into the NT631/NT631C
as screen data.
Probable Cause
Turn the NT631/NT631C power
OFF, set the Memory Unit DIP
switches correctly, then turn the
NT631/NT631C power back ON.
Turn the NT631/NT631C power
OFF, set the Memory Unit DIP
switches correctly, then turn the
NT631/NT631C power back ON.
Perform either of the following pro-
cedures.
• Press the OK touch switch to
return to the Memory Unit manual
transmission screen, make the
correct settings, then try again.
• Turn the NT631/NT631C power
OFF, correct the DIP switches set-
tings of the Memory Unit, then
turn the power back ON.
Turn the NT631/NT631C power
OFF, then back ON. If the error
recurs, the flash memory at the
write destination may be faulty. In
this case, replace the PT.
Turn the NT631/NT631C power
OFF, then back ON. If the error
recurs, the flash memory at the
write destination may be faulty. In
this case, replace the PT.
Perform either of the following pro-
cedures.
• Turn the NT631/NT631C power
OFF, correct the DIP switch set-
tings of the Memory Unit, and
then turn the power back ON.
• Turn the NT631/NT631C power
OFF, set the DIP switch settings
to the manual transmission, and
then check the data inside the
Memory Unit.
