Operation
When setting the charger up close to a window, pro-
tect it against direct sunlight.
Keep the charger from overheating. The vent openings
on the back of the charger must not be covered.
Turn off the control unit during the charging process so
that the entire charging current flows to the battery.
Avoid dust and dirt. Only clean with a dry cloth.
The charger is designed for the batteries installed in the
power wheelchair. A characteristic curve designed for the
installed battery type is programmed into the charger at the
factory. If the battery charger is to be used with another
power wheelchair or if new batteries are installed, the set-
ting has to be checked.
Please see the instructions for use supplied with the battery
charger for further details on use and on the LED indicators.
To charge the batteries, proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the control unit of the power wheelchair.
2. Open the cover on the charging receptacle. The charg-
ing receptacle is integrated into the right-hand steering
motor moulding (see Figure 25).
3. Connect the plug of the battery charger to the charging
receptacle on the power wheelchair.

supply. Then disconnect the charging plug.
6. Close the charging receptacle cover to protect it
against moisture.
7. Turn on the control unit. The power wheelchair is now
