Transportation and storage
Only one person may be transported in the power wheel-
chair at any one time. For optimum protection of the occu-
pants in case of an accident, use the seats and corre-
sponding restraint systems installed in a wheelchair ac-
cessible vehicle while it is in operation.
For more information, please refer to our brochure on us-
ing Ottobock products in wheelchair accessible vehicles,
order number 646D158.
Ensure that the wheelchair is fully secured with tensioning
straps during transportation in a wheelchair accessible vehi-
cle.
The frame has four fixing eyelets for the attachment of straps
(see Fig. 5).
Before transporting the power wheelchair, switch off the
control unit and engage the wheel lock.

5.1.1 Required Accessories

To use the power wheelchair as a seat in a wheelchair ac-
cessible vehicle, additional accessories have to be mounted
(491S00=SK024 Anchor Point Kit).

Transport of the Power Wheelchair

WARNING
Risk of accidents and injury due to loosening plug and
screw connections. Screw and plug connections must be
loosened for all adjustment work and when folding the
back rest for transportation. This can cause uncontrolled
movements of wheelchair components. To avoid injuries at
pinch and shear points, carry out such tasks with the sup-
port of another person. Ensure that body parts such as the
hands or head are kept out of the danger zone at all times.
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to insufficient restraints. Secure the
power wheelchair during transportation in another vehicle
by tightening the tensioning straps properly. Only attach
tensioning straps to the corresponding eyebolts and speci-
fied mounting points.
CAUTION
Risk of pinching or crushing in the pivot range of the
footplate(s). Ensure limbs are clear of the danger zone
when folding the footrests up or down.
