Line Output

The line output connects the MediaPort to a local sound reinforcement system. All line input
program sources, plus the USB communications audio from the far end, are mixed to the
line output.
For an application that uses a DSP processor in conjunction with the MediaPort 200,
connect the analog line output to the DSP processor as an AEC reference for the program
material and send it to local sound reinforcement from the DSP processor. In this case, mute
the USB communications audio (far end) to the line output and send it to the DSP processor
via the REF output (see
Software
The MediaPort always routes USB Communications audio from the far end to the REF Out.
This port is intended for use with a DSP processor, so that far end USB communications
audio can serve as an AEC reference on the DSP processor, and then be sent from the
processor to the local sound reinforcement system.
When you mute USB communications audio to the line output, the line output sends only
program audio to the DSP processor. This allows you to manage program audio separately
from USB communications audio. You can also use program audio as an AEC reference,
and either mix it to the same sound system as USB communications audio or send it to a
separate sound system.

Ref and Aux Output

The following outputs are on a shared connector on the MediaPort 200 rear panel:
Use the REF output in conjunction with a DSP processor that incorporates multiple
microphones with distributed AEC (that is, an AEC processor on every microphone
channel). The MediaPort always routes USB Communications audio from the far end to
the REF Out.
Alternatively, you can use the Ref output to send USB communications audio to a
separate sound system from program audio mixed to the line output. In this case, mute
USB Communications audio to the line output (see the
description in the PCS Configuration Program help file for more information).
The Aux output contains only the mic input signal from the MediaPort 200. This
facilitates connecting both the MediaPort 200 and a hardware codec when the same
microphone applied to the MediaPort 200 will be used simultaneously as the mic source
for the hardware codec.
