2. Log in as admin (using the password for the admin account).
3. You are placed into the CLI shell. However, a standard Linux shell must be used to
install the agent. To launch a shell, type the following command and press
osshell

su -
Give the root password (same as admin password).
5. Select a volume on which to put a directory called ralus.
NOTE: If you later delete the volume the ralus directory is on, you will need to reinstall the

6. Determine which volume has the most available space by looking at the
column in the volume usage table. Change directory to the volume with the most
available space.
cd
where [volumename] is the name of the volume with the most available space.
7. Create a directory ralus on that volume:
mkdir ralus
8. In the ralus directory, create 3 directories called VRTS, VRTSralus, and VRTSvxms.
cd ralus
mkdir VRTS VRTSralus VRTSvxms
ls
9. If CA Antivirus has been installed, you will have an /opt directory. If it has not been
installed, create an /opt directory:
mkdir /opt
10. Create the following symbolic links from the new directories in ralus to the
/opt directory:
ln -s /hd/
ln -s /hd/
ln -s /hd/
where [volumename] is the name of the volume with the most available space.
11. Use the host file editor ( Maintenance > Host File Editor page) to add all the Backup
Exec servers to
ping the main Backup Exec server.
