Configuring TCP/IP Settings

To configure the TCP/IP settings of a specific port or bond, click the name on the primary
TCP/IP page. A secondary TCP/IP page displays the configuration options for the Ethernet
port selected.
The following table describes these TCP/IP options.

Checked
By default, all Ethernet ports are enabled, whether they are
used or not.
Unchecked
Ports other than the Primary Interface (by default, Ethernet 1)
can be disabled by selecting the port and unchecking the
Enable Ethernet 1 checkbox. However, a bonded Ethernet
port cannot be disabled, nor can a disabled Ethernet port be
placed in bonded mode.
NOTE:
The primary Ethernet port must always be enabled.
GuardianOS will not allow you to disable it.
DHCP
By default, SnapServers acquire an IP address from the DHCP
server on the network.
Static
Administrators may assign a fixed IP address or other IP
settings as needed.
