Each Routing Engine module (RE module) has four LEDs on the module faceplate.
Table 17 on page 34
describes the functions of these LEDs.

State, Color, and Description
Indicates the administrative status (enabled or
disabled). The status indicators are:
Green—Administrative status enabled.
Yellow—The port is down.
Unlit—Administrative status disabled.
Indicates the speed. The speed indicators are
different in the line cards.
Unlit—10 Mbps
Green—Blinking—100 Mbps
Green—On steadily—1000 Mbps
Indicates the duplex mode. The status
indicators are:
Green—Port is set to full-duplex mode.
Unlit—Port is not set to full-duplex mode.
State and Description
Routing Engine is functioning as the master.
Routing Engine is either functioning as the backup
or not installed.
Blinking—Indicates activity on the solid-state drive
(SSD) or the flash memory device.
On steadily—Routing Engine is operating
normally.
Blinking—Routing Engine is coming online or
going offline.
Routing Engine has failed.
