Follow these steps:
1. Configure an ICMP echo probe to test connectivity to the key destination.
ProCurve(config)# probe Ping icmp-echo
ProCurve(config-probe-Ping)# destination www.procurve.com
ProCurve(config-probe-Ping)# period 10
ProCurve(config-probe-Ping)# tolerance consecutive-failures 3
ProCurve(config-probe-Ping)# no shutdown
ProCurve(config-probe-Ping)# exit
2. Create a track to monitor the state of the probe.
ProCurve(config)# track PrimaryInternet
ProCurve(config-track-PrimaryInternet)# test probe Ping
ProCurve(config-track-PrimaryInternet)# exit
3. Configure the track to monitor the Ethernet 0/2 interface's DHCP
configuration.
ProCurve(config)# interface ethernet 0/2
ProCurve(config-eth 0/2)# ip address dhcp track PrimaryInternet
ProCurve(config-eth 0/2)# exit
