How to Set Up the Multiport Test System Hardware
To Set the GPIB Addresses
The test set uses GPIB to communicate with system components. The GPIB address switch is
on the back panel of the test set; it is set to "18" at the factory. While this will work in most
situations, the address can be changed if required to avoid address conflicts with other
equipment on the same bus. If you change the address on the test set, make sure you also
change it in the software. (See
GPIB addresses are five-bit binary numbers set with the switches labeled "16" through "1",
with "1" being the least significant digit.
"T", "L", and "S" correspond to Talk, Listen, and Status. Set them as shown (off).
The example below shows the default setting, "18", set by turning on switches "16" and "2".
After changing a GPIB address setting, on any of the system equipment, turn
