Note
If the control unit is replaced, ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester connect
and, in the operating mode "Targeted fault finding", select the
"Replace control unit" function of the relevant control unit.
Removing
– Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
– Remove the knee airbag ⇒ Body Work; Rep. gr. 69 .
– Removing the left footwell vent on the driver side ⇒ Heating,
Air Conditioning; Rep. gr. 80 .
– Remove the bearing bracket for the brake pedal ⇒ Suspen‐
sion; Rep. gr. 46 .
– Push out bolt and remove expansion clips -3-.
– Lower unit -1-, unlock and disconnect plug connection -2-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence.
2.12.2 Right-hand drive
The control unit is located above the brake pedal.
Note

"Replace control unit" function of the relevant control unit.
Removing
– Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
– Remove the storage compartment in the dash panel on the
front passenger side⇒ Body Work; Rep. gr. 70 .
