11-1-1 Overview

SNMP Agent
The EtherNet/IP Unit has its own management information called the MIB (management information
base). This information can be provided to the SNMP manager. The SNMP manager is software that
gathers and processes information about devices on the SNMP network and provides that information
to the network administrator. You can use the SNMP manager to monitor the EtherNet/IP Unit.

The SNMP manager has a SNMP command to request MIB information. The EtherNet/IP Unit SNMP
agent function supports SNMPv1 (RFC1157) and SNMPv2C (RFC1901). Use the SNMPv1 or
SNMPv2C protocol to manage the EtherNet/IP Unit with the SNMP manager. You can also use both the
SNMPv1 and SNMPv2C protocols together at the same time.
