3. Press the power-control button to turn off the compute node. See "Turning off the compute node" on
page 13.
4. Wait at least 30 seconds for the hard disk drive to stop spinning.
5. Open the release handles, as shown in Figure 8 on page 37. The IBM Flex System p260 Compute
Node has one release handle. The IBM Flex System p460 Compute Nodehas two release handles. The
compute node can be moved out of the bay approximately 0.6 cm (0.25 inch).
6. Pull the compute node out of the bay.
7. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, with the cover side up.
8. Place either a compute node filler or another compute node in the bay.

1. Perform a virtual reseat of the compute node.

2. Is the problem resolved?
Yes: This ends the procedure.
No: Continue with the next step.
3. Remove and replace the compute node into the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis.
a. Remove the compute node from the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis. See "Removing the
compute node from an IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis" on page 37.
b. Install the compute node into the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis. See "Installing the compute
node in an IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis" on page 93.
