Managing Files in Internal Flash

Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to copy,
rename, delete and list the files in the internal flash.

filename
copy flash://
filename
usb://
current_name
rename
new_name

delete
erase {startup-config |
backup-image | backup-
config}
copy startup-config
backup-config
copy running-config
startup-config
show startup-config
show running-config
Command

Purpose
List the files in the flash file system.
Copy a file from the internal flash to a USB flash drive.
Use the dir command to see a list of the files that can be
copied from the internal flash.
Make sure a flash drive has been inserted in the USB port
on the front panel before executing the command.
Rename a file in flash.
Remove the specified file.
Erase the startup configuration, the backup configuration
or the backup image.
Save the startup configuration to the backup configuration
file.
Copy the current configuration to the startup
configuration. This saves the current configuration to
NVRAM.
View the contents of the startup-config file
View the contents of the running-config file
Purpose
List the files in the flash file system.
Rename a file in flash.
Remove the specified file.
Erase the startup configuration, the backup configuration
or the backup image.
