8-2-2. Video Tracking Adjustment

Notes
. Tighten the set screw on top of tape guide with the following tightening torque.

10 x 10
N.m (1.0 kgf.cm)
. When the video tracking is adjusted, be sure to check the tape running state.
Upon completion of the video tracking check, apply the locking compound on the
set screw on top of tape guide.
Tools
. Screwdriver (tool) TG adjustment (45) : J-6322-420-B
. HN-255 assembly :
. Mirror (small oval type) :
. Alignment tape HR2-1A :
Preparations
1. Turn off the main power.
2. Remove the front lid and the outside panel
assembly. (Refer to Section 1-4.)
3. Loosen the two screws (with drop-safe) and
remove the shoulder pad.
4. Remove the two screws (P2 x 4) and remove
the plate.
5. Connect the HN-255 assembly to the MDC-
13 board.
5-pin connector on the HN-255 assembly :
CN902/MDC-13 board
8-pin connector on the HN-255 assembly :
CN903/MDC-13 board
6. Connect an oscilloscope.
CH-1 : REC A PB/Circuit board on the HN-
255 assembly
TRIG : SERVO CF/Circuit board on the HN-
255 assembly
7. Turn on the main power.
8. Enter the REC-head playback mode using the
maintenance menu.
9. Insert the alignment tape HR2-1A.
