6. Use long needlenose pliers to squeeze the plastic tabs at the upper-left corner
of the backplane mounting bracket. Pull slightly on the backplane to disengage
the tabs.
See Figure 8–8.
7. Repeat 6 for the tabs at the lower-left corner of the bracket.
8. Swing the left side of the backplane away from the chassis and remove it from
the system.

Replacing the SCSI Backplane

1. Remove the replacement SCSI backplane and bracket assembly from the
shipping bag and place it on an antistatic surface.
2. Position the backplane and bracket assembly so that the tabs on all four corners
of the mounting bracket align with the corresponding slots in the chassis wall.
The backplane must be inserted at an angle to accomplish this.
3. Push on the upper-left and lower-left corners of the backplane to snap it
into place.

4. Connect the SCSI data cable and DC power harness to the SCSI backplane.

5. Replace the hard disk drive(s).

6. Remove the wrist strap from your wrist and then from the power supply.
7. Replace the cover.

8. Power on the system.
