Removing the Print Unit
Perform this procedure in the following cases:
• To replace the print unit
• To work inside the printer for more than three minutes. (Store the
print unit in a clean, dark place.)
Caution:
Be sure that the printer is turned off before beginning.
To remove the print unit, follow these steps:

Caution:
• Remove the print unit with the toner bottle attached.
• When placing the print unit after it is removed from the printer, be
careful not to hit the surface of the photoconductor drum (green
part) to other components.
Photoconductor
• Place the removed print unit with the front side in the above figure
facing down to avoid spilling toner. Do not place it upside down.
• Never hold the toner bottle to remove the print unit, or the print
unit may fall off the toner bottle.

1. Open the upper cover.

2. Remove the print unit.
Hold the left and right
handles (green labels) at the
top of the print unit and
gently lift the print unit at a
45° angle toward the front
of the printer.
