Connecting the Printer to Your Computer

• IrDA (option)
Use IrDA (infrared adapter) if the printer is used in an infrared
communications system.
Whichever interface you use, the printer automatically detects the
interface that the computer is using.
For these options refer to Chapter 3.

Connecting to the Parallel Port

This printer does not come with a parallel interface cable. You can
use the following two types of Centronics interface cables (sold
separately) for this purpose. Your dealer can advise you on the cable
you require.
• Centronics cable with IEEE 1284 type B connector at the printer
side
• Centronics cable with IEEE1284 type C connector (half size) at the
printer side
Caution:
Be sure that both printer and computer are turned off before
connecting the interface.
Do not touch any connector contacts or corona wires to avoid
possible electrostatic damage to the printer.

To make the connection,
plug the cable connector
into the parallel interface
port on the back of the
printer. Secure the
connector with the wire
clips. Plug the other
connector into your
computer's parallel port.
