7. Return all paper trays or duplex unit to the original position.
Push each all the way until it is stopped.
8. Return all the lock levers to the lock position.
Paper Jams in the Duplex Unit
To clear a paper jam in the duplex unit, follow these steps:
1. Pull out the duplex unit until the rear edge of its upper guide is
visible.
• It may be hard to pull out the duplex unit when the second,
third, or fourth paper feeder was in use. In this case, release the
lock lever at the left side of the paper feeder and pull out the
duplex unit until the far end of the upper guide is seen..
• Even after the lock lever of each paper feeder is released, the
duplex unit may not be pulled out if paper is caught between a
lower paper tray and the printer. If so, remove jammed paper in
accordance with the procedure in "Paper Jams in the Paper Path
(under the Print Unit)" later in this section.

Caution:
While removing the jammed paper, be sure to hold the upper guide
of the duplex unit open so that it cannot fall down toward you and
catch you on your fingers.

2. Open the upper guide and
remove the jammed sheet.
Pull the two levers at both
sides of the duplex unit
towards you to unlock the
upper guide. While holding
the green lever at the right
of the upper guide to open
the upper guide and remove
the sheet.
