04 Chapter 1
To prepare the print unit and install the toner bottle, follow these
steps:

When opening the upper cover, be careful not to get your hand
caught between the cover and printer frame. It may hurt you. Do
not carelessly touch the upper cover while it is open; otherwise, the
cover may drop in the close direction and crush your hand.
Caution:
Do not touch the components inside the printer.

1. Open the upper cover. Lift

the milled portions at the
front left and right of the
upper cover to open it.
2. Seat the print unit in
place. This printer is
shipped with a print unit
mounted. Press down
gently on the left and right
portions marked PUSH
until the print unit is
positioned in place.
3. Remove the protective
materials from the print
unit. With the print unit
mounted, peel off the center
yellow tape, pull the
portion marked "REMOVE
THIS q" to remove
protective sheet q, and
gently pull transparent
narrow tape w toward the
right and you until the
"END" mark is visible and
remove the tape.
