Enhancing and Customizing the Printer
This chapter explains the following ways to enhance or customize
your printer:
• Add RAM up to a total of 64 megabytes except the resident RAM.
• Add an additional interface to the parallel and serial interfaces.
• Add 250- or 500-sheet paper feeders (feeder units and paper trays)
as the second to fourth paper sources including changing the paper
tray size.
• Add a duplex unit as the two-sided printing mechanism.
You can order these options separately. See Appendix B for ordering
information. Contact your dealer for information on other new
options that may be available.
The following gives you brief information and installation
instructions for each option.
Warning:

Use only correct optional components. Using other components
may cause a fire, electric shock, or other faults.
When an optional component is attached or detached, do not
remove any screws other than specified. Removing screws carelessly
may cause injury or faults.
Caution:
Be sure that the printer is turned off before installing an option.
Do not touch any connector contacts to avoid possible electrostatic
damage to the printer.
