Chapter 2 Checking before OS Installation

2.1.2 Hardware Settings

Before starting installation, set necessary hardware, such as the BIOS Setup Utility.
Boot Maintenance Manager
Changing the Boot Drive
To change the boot drive, use the Boot Maintenance Manager. For the changing procedures, refer to
"8.2.3 Boot Maintenance Manager" ( pg.240).
BIOS Setup Utility
The BIOS Setup Utility must be used for the configuration in the following cases. For details on how to
use the BIOS Setup Utility, refer to "8.3 BIOS Setup Utility" ( pg.243).
Performing Remote Installation
Before performing remote installation of ServerStart, enable the network startup (PXE). Also, check the
MAC address.

Start the BIOS Setup Utility.

Select [LAN] in the [Devices] menu and press the [Enter] key.
The [LAN] submenu window appears.

Change [Enabled On-board NIC ROM] to [Enabled].

Check the MAC address shown in the field [NIC 1 MAC Address].
The MAC address is required for remote installation. Write it down.

Press the [F10] key to save the current settings and exit the BIOS Setup Utility.

Start the Boot Maintenance Manager.

Change the boot sequence.
Refer to "8.2.3 Boot Maintenance Manager" ( pg.240) and change the boot sequence so that
"MBA v7.7.8 Slot 0C10" has the highest priority.
You can turn the power on from a client (via a LAN) by utilizing the Wakeup On LAN (WOL) function.
Refer to "5.5.5 Turning the Power on via a LAN" ( pg.159).
Be sure to install ServerView to control the power supply via a LAN.
