Wth the needle centered, fly toward the MAP,
observng the alttude mnmums dctated by
the approach plate. When vewng the map
page, you'll note that the final course segment
s dsplayed n magenta (the actve leg of the
flght plan always appears n magenta) and
a dashed lne extends the course beyond the
MAP.
11. As you approach the MAP, a waypont alert
("ARRIVING WPT") wll appear n the lower
rght corner. CDI scalng contnues to tghten
from 0.3 NM to 350 feet, full-scale deflec-
ton.
12. As you cross the MAP, "SUSP" wll appear
above the OBS key, ndcatng that automatc
sequencng of approach wayponts wll be
suspended at the MAP. A "from" ndcaton
wll be dsplayed on the CDI and default NAV
page, but course gudance along the final
approach course wll contnue. Do NOT follow
ths extended course. Follow publshed mssed
approach procedures usng the OBS key to
ntate the mssed approach sequence.

Vectors to Final

Let' s take a second look at the "VOR 22" approach
into Billard Municipal. Instead of following the DME
arc, ATC tells you to expect vectors onto the final
approach course. There are several ways to select "vec-
tors to final" with the 400W-series unit. The first two
options below will normally require the least workload
to accomplish:
• When the approach is first selected, choose "VEC-
TORS" from the transitions window.
• Load a full approach — including the IAF from
the transitions window. When cleared, press
PROC and select "Activate Vectors-To-Final?".
• Load the full approach. Use the direct-to key (by
pressing it twice) from the active flight plan page
to select the desired leg of the approach.
To select "VECTORS" from the transitions window:
1. Select Bllard Muncpal (KTOP) as your dest-
naton, usng the direct-to key, or as the last
waypont n a flght plan.
Press the PROC key and select the "VOR 22"
