DME Arc Approach

Follow the arc, keepng the CDI needle cen-
tered. When usng an autoplot, the course
select on the CDI (or HSI) must be perodcally
updated wth the desred track (DTK) to ensure
proper trackng through the arc. Whenever the
course select settng and desred track dffer
by more than 10°, a "Set course to ###°"
message wll appear on the message page.

The next pont n the approach s an nterme-
date fix, labeled "DMARY/D025G". As you
approach ths ntermedate fix, a waypont alert
("RT TO 205° x S") wll appear n the lower
rght corner of the screen. As the dstance to
ths fix approaches zero, the alert s replaced
by a turn advsory ("RT TO 205° NOW"). Dal
ths course nto the CDI (or HSI) usng the OBS
knob and ntate a standard rate turn to ths
course headng.

When wthn 45° of the final approach course
and the FAF s the TO waypont, the 400W-
seres unt wll swtch from termnal mode to
approach mode. CDI scalng s tghtened from
1.0 NM full scale deflecton to ether 0.3 naut-
cal mle or 2° full scale deflecton whchever s

less at the FAF. The change occurs over 2 NM
and s completed by the FAF.

As you approach the FAF, "RT TO 214° x S" wll
appear n the lower rght corner of the screen.
Select ths course on the CDI (or HSI) usng the
OBS knob and turn to the final course segment
(FAF to MAP) headng.
DO NOT USE FOR
NAVIGATION
NOTE: Since this is not a GPS approach, the pilot
should be using the VLOC receiver, tuned to the
correct VOR (TOP) for navigation.
