4.10 Redundant Twin Conﬁguration

neither. The Status SNVT update time determines the maximum time between propaga-

tions. If the update time is non zero, every update time ms a status SNVT is scheduled for

propagation. It is propagated even if the status has not been updated. If the update time is

zero then no propagation is scheduled on a timed interval. For a more detailed description

of the Status SNVT see Section 2.5.5.

Enter 1 or 2 and press ENTER. The new value will appear in the menu. Hit Enter without

typing a number and the previous value will be retained.

The Status SNVT propagate on update option schedules the status SNVT for propagation

whenever the SNVT is updated or the status changes. This is event driven and not time

driven. For a more detailed description of the Status SNVT see Section 2.5.5.

4.10.50 Twin Conﬁguration IP Address and Port

Select [9] from the menu and press ENTER.

Enter the IP address in dot notation XX.XX.XX.XX and press ENTER. The new value

will appear in the menu. Hit Enter without typing a number and the previous value will be

retained.

Enter Twin's Port number[0] >>>

Enter the port number (1-65535) and press ENTER. The new value will appear in the

menu. Hit Enter without typing a number and the previous value will be retained.

The essential conﬁguration information needed to achieve twin mode is to set the Twin's

IP address and port on each device. This IP address and port should be the same one used

for 852 conﬁguration. For example if router A is IP 10.0.2.101 port 1628 and router B is

IP 10.0.2.102 port 1628. Then on router A one should set its Twin IP address

10.0.2.102 port 1628. On router B one should set its twin IP address to 10.0.2.101 port

1628. Unless the source address matches the twin IP address and port a router will ignore

any twin mode monitoring, diagnostic, or conﬁguration packets received from another

router.
