4.4.14 Configuration Server Compatibility Mode
Select [M] from the menu and press ENTER.
>>> m
Enter Devices Configuration Compatibility Mode:
1 = 852 Compliant Mode
2 = i.LON(TM)ConfigServer Compatibility Mode
3 = Coactive Router-LL(TM) Compatibility Mode
The current versions of both the i.LON config server and the router-LL config server were
developed before the final version of the ANSI/EIA 852 specification was finalized. Con-
sequently there are variations in how they function. The embedded configuration server in
the GadgetGateway was removed in release 2.x of the firmware because it had to be
rewritten to support multi-cast. The next major release of the GadgetGateway will include
a compliant configuration server that supports multi-cast. Future versions of the i.LON
config server may become more compliant and not require the use of the compatibility
mode.
852 Compliant Mode: Select when using a fully 852 compliant configuration server.
i.LON (TM) ConfigServer Compatibility Mode: Select when using version 1.x of the
i.LON configuration server.
Coactive Router-LL (TM) ConfigServer Compatibility Mode: Select when using the
Router-LL configuration server.
Enter the Configuration Server's Compatibility Mode (1-3) and press ENTER. The new
mode will appear in the menu.
4.4.15 Send Registration to Configuration Server
This item is only displayed in the menu when the router is set to Normal mode.
When 852 bridge mode is enabled there are two configuration servers, one for each of the
bridged channels, that is, far side and near side.
Select [R] from the menu and press ENTER
An 852 registration packet will be sent to both the near side and far side configuration
servers when in 852 bridge mode and to the single config server when not in 852 bridge
mode. The device should then be recognized by the config server(s). The device may now
be in the orphans list and have to be further commissioned by the config server.
