2. Set the GadgetGateway to Normal mode. This can be done through either the 709.1/IP
Gateway Main Menu in the Serial Menu (Section 4.4), or through the Router Setup
page on the Web Interface (Section 5.4).
3. Set the Configuration Server address to the address of the Router-LL that is running the
Configuration Server. This can be done through either the Serial Interface or the Web
Interface (Section 4.4.12 or Section 5.4). Set the configuration server port to 2009.
4. Set the compatibility type to Coactive Router-LL. This can be done through either the
Serial Interface or the Web Interface (Section 4.4 or Section 5.4).
5. Register the device with the configuration server This can be done through by selecting
the [R] menu option in the SetUp menu of the Serial Interface or the Web Interface
(Section 4.4 or Section 5.4). The device should now show up in the device list on the
Coactive Configuration Server web page.
6. Verify that the GadgetGateway is configured correctly by checking the Channel List on
the Gateway. This can be done through either the Serial Interface or the Web Interface
(Section 4.6 or Section 5.6). If configured correctly, the Gateway will have two entries
in its Channel List: itself and the Router-LL.
7. The Gateway and the Router-LLs will now communicate with each other over IP and
will tunnel packets between ANSI/EIA 709.1 networks once they have been commis-
sioned using LonMaker or another ANSI/EIA 709.1 management tool.
Note: Save configuration data after completing the configuration steps. Manually entered
configuration data will be lost on a reboot unless it is saved first. To save configuration
data to flash Select [S] from the Main Menu and press ENTER. (See Section 4.3.4)

3.6 Using GadgetGateway with LonMaker over IP

Using a GadgetGateway with the LonMaker management software allows for manage-
ment of a LonWorks network without having a direct connection to that network. To create
a communication link between the LonMaker software and a GadgetGateway, you will
need a configuration server such as the i.LON Configuration Server.
3.6.3 Using the i.LON Configuration Server
This section contains step-by-step instructions on how to set up the LonMaker tool to
communicate with a GadgetGateway using the i.LON Configuration Server. The process
