6.1 Firmware Upgrade Instructions
The GadgetGateway is firmware upgradeable. This feature allows GadgetGateway users
to take advantage of enhancements and features that may become available in the future.
To upgrade the firmware on the GadgetGateway, you must first have access to the serial
port. Plug the serial cable into the Gateway and connect it to a terminal or PC. You must
also download and install the Firmware Flash FTP downloader application software from
Adept's web site. This software runs on a Windows PC. The FTP application is available
on Adept's web site in the support section (http://www.adeptsystemsinc.com/support/help-
desk/downloads/GadgetGateway/CD_Files/Tools) under the file name ftpdl.exe.
Reset the GadgetGateway by cycling power. After approximately 30 seconds, the follow-
ing Menu will appear on the terminal screen:

Boot-loader Version 2.0
Press any key with in 3 seconds to reprogram flash memory.
To reprogram flash, press any key within 3 seconds. The following option will appear:
You have choosen to reprogram Flash Memory.
Press Y to reprogram flash, N to continue without reprogramming flash.
Select Y and press ENTER. The following prompt will appear.
The flash loader ftp application will be started.
