3.5 Configuring with the Coactive Router-LL

3.5.1 Manual Mode

This section contains step-by-step instructions on configuring a Coactive Router-LL and a
GadgetGateway in Manual mode to tunnel ANSI/EIA 709.1 packets between each other.
This creates an IP backbone for a ANSI/EIA 709.1 network.
1. Using the Serial connection, set up an IP address, subnet mask, and Gateway address
for the GadgetGateway (See Section 4.2, "GadgetGateway IP Configuration" ). Using
a PC, ping the Gateway to ensure that it is communicating on the IP network.
Note: Consult the network administrator to procure the IP address, subnet mask, and
Gateway address, if not already known.
2. Set both the GadgetGateway and the Coactive Router-LL to Manual mode. For the
Gateway, this can be done through either the 709.1/IP Gateway Main Menu in the
Serial Menu or through the Router Setup page on the Web Interface (Section 4.4 or
Section 5.4). For the Router-LL, this is done through the Basic Setup on the Router-
LL's Web Interface (Section 5.4).
3. Using either the Serial Interface or the Web Interface, add the other device's IP address
and communications port number (the default port is 1628) into the Channel List of the
Gateway and the Router-LL (Section 4.4.12 or Section 5.4).
4. Once steps 1–3 have been completed, the GadgetGateway will be able to communicate
with the Coactive Router-LL over the IP network. The devices can now be set up and
commissioned using the LonMaker Management Tool or any other compatible man-
agement tool.
3.5.2 Router-LL Configuration Server Mode
This section contains step-by-step instructions on configuring an Coactive Router-LL
and a GadgetGateway using the Router-LL Configuration Server to tunnel ANSI/EIA
709.1 packets between each other. This will create an IP backbone for a ANSI/EIA 709.1
network.
