3.7 Configuring GadgetGateways with
NAT Routers

NAT router. These addresses are sometimes called private IP addresses and are from
one of the three subnets: 10.X.X.X, 172.16.-32.X.X, or 192.168.1.X. Using a PC, ping
the GG router to ensure that it is communicating on the local IP network.
Note: Consult the network administrator to procure the IP address, subnet mask, and
Gateway address, if not already known.
2. Using the serial or web interface, set up the 852 port (See (Section 3.3). Configure the
NAT router to port map the 852 port. If you need to use the GG web interface from the
WAN side then you must also set up and port map the http web server port for the GG.
See Section 4.4.11 or Section 5.4.
3. Using either the serial or web interface, enter the NAT router's WAN IP address. See
Section 4.4.9 or Section 5.4.
4. Using either the serial or web interface, enable NAT support. See Section 4.4.10 or
Section 5.4.
5. Continue configuring the GG in either Manual or Normal mode as described in previ-
ous sections.
