Solution Configuration
This chapter describes the optimum solutions provided by the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system linking with
software programs.
11.1

Continuous Business

Solution Overview
The ETERNUS DX Disk storage system can perform real time data transfers from the operation site to a re-
mote site. Even if an error occurs in the operation site, operations can continue by switching operation from
the operation site to the backup site. Data transfers to a remote site occur only between storage systems, not
through servers, which reduces the load on the server.
Support for multiple transfer methods also enables flexible backup systems to be configured according to the
operation environment.

Configuration Procedure
Configure the system to perform Remote Advanced Copying (REC) by using ETERNUS SF Advanced Copy Man-
ager.
The business server is used as the ACM Agent and the operation management server is used as the ACM
Manager.
Register the business server (ACM Agent) and the business volumes that are to be backed up in the opera-
tion management server (ACM Manager).
REC related settings and connection path settings must be performed in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage sys-
tem.
